I've learned a lot in this MSN TV (Web TV) NG: Ms Laura Lou's NG.
We all share & help each other - it's a really great group of people!
I lurk in an MSN TV (Web TV) NG:
Mlsartparable's NG & found some posts by Susanna with the basic ideas & instructions for
reflecting an image. I added a little to it & this page is the result.
In the tradition of
Ms Laura Lou, I now share it with you!
Take your image
(you can use this one to
Image Magick.
Annotate it - click the annotate tab, put your text in the text box choose
(South +0+0 - or +0+10 - whatever looks good to you - for this one I used +0+30
& Scriptina for the font); choose a color (I used midnight blue), & a point size
(I used 20), a density (I used 100), & a stroke width (I left it at 1 - you can
use a higher number if you want to). Now click the annotate button.
Click the transform tab & choose rotate right. Now click the F/X tab, choose
wave type 5x8 in the text box & click the effect button, then wave again at
5x7, wave it once more at 5x6. Now click the Effects tab & choose blur,
put 10 in the text box & click the effects button. Click transform & rotate
left Now output & save the
waved image.
Now take a
blank gif to Image Magick & size it (click the resize tab & put in the size
you need) the same width but double the height (if the original is 250x250;
then make the blank gif 250x500). Now composite the waved image North at -20+0
using atop, then flip it & composite the original (not the waved image) using
North +0+0 & atop (depending on the image & the effect you want for the reflection;
you can make it North +40+0 or +70+0 - whatever suits your needs) here's the image
Ocean Reflection
with text. You can composite the image again using multiply & then click
the enhance tab & choose normalize, click the enhance button. When you're
satisfied with it, click the transform tab - choose crop & type in the image
size & +25+25 (right after the image size). Click the transform button. Now click
transform again, type in 180 & choose rotate & click the transform button.
Once again, click the transform tab & choose crop . Put in the new size for the
image & +25+25, now click the transform button. It's all cropped but upside down - click
the transform tab once again, put in 180 & rotate. Output it & save it to your
files. Here's the finished
reflected image. I used gamma once to improve it, but you can repeat it until
it suits your tastes.
*Your text on the waved image will be waved & rippled
just like a reflection in water.*
**Sometimes the image will seem too dark
when it's finished - you can improve it by using gamma & the default setting of
1.6 (continue to use the gamma (with the default setting) until it looks right
to you.**
***If you want more room between the image & the edges you can
add a border the same as the background of the image 20x20 border (not frame).
Now you have plenty of room to work with & later crop off all the wave edges
if you like.***
